Picture is of 23/32 x 11-1/4" square edge.
Over the past twenty-five years, I have wanted to change the flooring industry standards from 3/4" and 23/32 to 3/8". Milling equipment of the past was inefficient, and we've remained close to those unnecessary standards ever since. We need to preserve and conserve our forests. 3/8" works, allowing 3-4 sand and finishes. It's less expensive and 40% lighter, making these current higher shipping rates 40% lower. It's easier to handle and install, and if it does slightly cup, it is easy to press down, nail, and/or glue flat. The sensible solution begins right here!

3/8" x 5-1/4" x 3/4/5/6/7' Tight Grain
Lightweight: Saves 40% wood fiber, 40% freigh, easy to handle, easy to nail, glue or both. Samples with one coat of unsanded Minwax Polyurethane Clear Semi-Gloss. These samples have been leaning on a wall in my house for 2 years, and still flat, but if cupped, it's easy to make flat, which is not so easy with thicker. I have run Cherry and Black walnut to 1/4" x 10" x 10' and it lays and stays flat. Glued down with a few small invisible top nails and black Wood Wise in the gaps. Awsome! White and Red Oak to 1/4" x maximum 5" wide.

Environmentally Correct Use of Tree Harvesting
23/32 x 3/4" flooring is unnecessary. Historically, it was often structural and millwork equipment was bulky and less efficient.
1x4 (3-1/4") $3.95
1x6 4.95/sf
Minimum footage: 1500 sf. Pricing and flooring footage requirements are subject to change.

DF CVG Flooring-Paneling combination allows 3-4 sand and finishes. Sanding typically removes 1/32", and is necessary mostly because of the occasional imperceptible thickness variations between planks that should be sanded flush, or there will eventually be a wear spot.
Notice that the only part of the edge touching are the wear layers. The groove is slightly deeper than the tongue and the slightly beveled edge paneling back allows for the natural seasonal expansion and contration of your floor. If it were "center matched" as with paneling, you would possibly see face gaps. The wear layer is pressured together from nailing or taping so the wear layer fibers expande and contract as the flooring tongue and backside are allowed to move freely.
Note: SLF prices are based on a 1500sf minimum.

DF CVG Flooring 3/8" x 5-1/4" x 3/4/5/6/7'
We need people to step up to the reality that we are wasting our timber supply on outdated end products. For instance, architectural specifications are often inflexible and outdated. 3/4" flooring products were often installed directly onto floor joists, so the thickness needed to be structural. Not so today.
Engineered flooring with a 1/16'' wear layer glued to a 5/8" cheaper wood platform is unnecessary and cannot be resanded and finished. With modern equipment, the subfloor is identical to the engineered platform. Its about the marketing, but 's not right. Prefinished engineered flooring is typically finished with an aluminum oxide that requires a grinder to remove and refinish. It is not possible to refinesh most engineered products, which is why the wear layer is paper-thin.

9/16" x 5-1/8 x 3' - 16/20' A few usable knots and pitch streaks but at $2.95/sf you can't go wrong

This product is downgraded to DVG because of knots, and also because of intermittent skip on the backside. This person hand-palm sanded each piece, taking 1-3 mins per board. We can custom run to 1/2", which evenly reduces the groove and makes more professional $2.95/sf

This is the DF DVG Beaded Ceiling Backside that we commercial milled to 1/2" x 5-1/8" reducing the groove from 1/4" each side to less that 1/8" each side.
$4.50/sf.
Note: Thinner and lighter in weight is much safer for ceilings.
Like with flooring, you should order 10% over the net of the actual space. This customer ordered 15% over net footage to make into CVG.

The original Mico LLC was started by the same Mac, Clyde McClain "Mac" Lewman in 1987 after the October 19, stock market crash. Mac decided he preferred to be the loser of his own money so took the little money leftover, drove to Salem and registered Mico LLC ( "Mac's Investment Company", aka, "My Company").
Mac sold Mico LLC in 2016 and semi-retired to Hawaii. The new owner changed the name to Mico3 LLC and in November of 2024 decided to retire to play golf, spend more time with his wife and grandchildren, so he called Mac and simply gave it back. Now Mac is looking for an experienced wood products partner/buyer to work with and turn the business over to. You must love the wood business or it won't work. Send me a text or give me a call, 808-859-1132.
We are now sending out 27,000 emails per week and are looking for appropriate marketing affiliates - give us a call.
